Misfits Central--  Misfits Central is a comprehensive site on the legendary horror-punk band, The Misfits.  My Misfits tribute band, Ghouls Night Out, is going to make a comeback one of these days. Really.

For some reason, I've been on this insane Allman Brothers Band kick for the past few months. Probably the biggest reason for this is the fantastic community that trades CDR recordings of the band's llive performances. Just since May or so, I've collected a veritable shitload of shows by the ABB and related bands. If you're wondering, this is explicity authorized -- nothing illegal here. Anyway, here's a link to the ABB page.

Death to the Pixies-- When I first heard the Pixies in 1989 or '90, I wasn't very impressed. I've started listening to them recently, however, and they're fantastic. Who knows what I was thinking back then.   Death to the Pixies is the official site for an amazing and highly influential band who based one of their best songs ("Debaser") on a Salvador Dali/Luis Bunuel movie (Un Chien Andalou).  (Betcha didn't know that.)

The Minutemen were a seminal punk band from San Pedro, California.  Their name supposedly came from the fact that most of their original songs lasted about a minute.  Their Double Nickels on the Dime double LP is absolutely incredible.  After the death of guitarist D. Boon, bassist Mike Watt and drummer George Hurley formed a new band, plant's fIREHOSE memorial. I had the extreme pleasure of seeing fIREHOSE in concert in 1991, and it was one of the best shows I've ever seen.

The GWAR Forum-- Know GWAR.  Love GWAR.  Worship GWAR.

writers

Hunter S. Thompson, my favorite writer, is the author of such masterpieces of gonzo journalism as Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas and Fear and Loathing: On the Campaign Trail '72.  Reading his books is like watching a spectator sport -- I just want to get up and cheer the bastard on.  The Atlantic Monthly has a really cool American Graffiti section on HST which features some nice movie and sound files.  You can find out more about him at The Great Thompson Hunt. where Christine O. houses all things gonzo.

I'll admit right now that I can't make head or tails of William S. Burroughs' Naked Lunch, but I could grasp Junky.  Visit The Big Table and learn about Burroughs' prolific life and works.

Tom Robbins, the author of such novels as Still Life With Woodpecker, Skinny Legs and All,and Even Cowgirls Get the Blues, is another wonderful writer. I haven't read his stuff in a while, but I have fond memories of being completely obsessed with it for a couple of years, particularly one summer when I was eating a lot of mushrooms. The AFTRLife is a nice page dedicated to Robbins and his work.  WARNING: TURN OFF YOUR SPEAKERS WHEN VISITING THIS PAGE!

other stuff

The Disgruntled Ex-Burger King Employee Page is the best site on the Internet, bar none. I'm really surprised at myself that I didn't have this idea first. Oh well, at least I have a couple of submissions on the "evil customer" page. (Search for "deluxe.")

-- I don't give a damn about Andre the Giant. But I'm devoted to Andre the Giant Has a Posse.

I can relate anything in life to one of two things: 1) a George Carlin routine, or 2) a Peanuts comic strip. I don't know if that's good or bad; it's just true.

You can read my personalized newspaper,  The Shiteyes Sentinel.

Look at this fan page for Crispin Glover, my all-time favorite actor.

Total insanity.
