writing
Here are some things I've written over the past couple of years. The
most recent stuff is at the bottom, save for the paper at the very end,
which is dead old.
I worked as assistant news editor at The Reflector during
the 1999-2000 school year. Strangely enough, though, I didn't
write anything for the paper until near the end of my term,
and then it was a column, not a news article. This column is
a remembrance of Charles M. Schulz, a truly beautiful dude.

Here's my
second column, this one about the unrealized promise of my Misfits
tribute band, Ghouls Night Out.

Another column
dealing with music, this article looks at the ridiculous categories
the music industry comes up with.

I'm not much
for writing angry columns about serious issues, but every once
in a while, I get a little fired up. This column about credit-card
companies' presence on university campuses (particularly MSU)
was the result of such an instance. Almost everyone who complimented
me on it mentioned how funny it was, though, so who knows if anyone
got the point...

Sometimes
you just don't know what to write, and deadline's coming up, and
you're just about at the end of your rope... and then God smiles
on you with the horny goat weed.

This is a column about my inability to stay apathetic about
politics.

I like this column because it's full-on loony. Looney, even.
Crazy-go-nuts. But serious.

Here's a paper
about Flannery O'Connor's Wise Blood I wrote while I was
an undergrad. I was going to take it down when I redesigned the
site, but I've received some interesting email about it, so I
decided to leave it up.

I'll keep adding columns
as I write them, if I can ever find time to write any more. I might
add some more critical papers, but for now this is it.
