I took a "Web Design for Communicators" class from Eric Johnson in the summer of '99. While we didn't do a whole lot of web wizardry in the four weeks we had, we did some pretty cool projects. Here's what I produced in the class.

Obsessions -- The assignment for this was to tell about yourself using only text. As usual, I diverted the attention from myself a bit. I mined a bit of this for my Peanuts column (see 'writing') for the paper a few months later.

One Lifetime Under a Groove -- Here, we were supposed to tell a story using only images. This is a very loose, not all-inclusive chronology of some of the music I've been into.

Slip: A Definition -- With this project, we were supposed to define a word using whatever means we wanted to. I went with mostly text. All text, actually. I kind of ripped off the look of this project when I started redoing this site.

Mississippi Talking: Small-Town Mississippi -- Mississippi Talking is the web magazine created by members of Eric's classes. Each semester, a new issue comes out. Ours was the second, and my project was an image-driven one that looked at, well, small towns in Mississippi. I wrote the text and designed the pages, but I'm most proud of the pictures I got.
